THE CHALLENGE: A high end designer lighting company needed to package their latest edition of lighting fixture samples. They had seven new products that they wanted to ship to existing customers as well as to their salesforce located in various states in the U.S.A. The items needed to be contained in one container. The packaging needed a “WOW” factor to make a great first impression. The outside protective packaging needed to be easy to carry and have a sleek, professional look.
THE SOLUTION: An insert was designed out of black 2# cross linked polyethylene foam to protect the fixtures during transit. Seven cavities all die cut to different dimensions and heights was manufactured for the sample package. In order to give the initial “WOW” factor, the top pad would have black flocking adhered to it to give a rich lustrous look and would display the customers brochure as well. In order to carry the products, the client had the choice of a corrugated die cut box with a handle and their logo printed on it, a soft case, also with their logo silk screened on it with carrying handles, foam padding and a shoulder strap or a hard case with foam fabricated inserts including a convoluted top insert to protect the samples.
THE RESULT: First and foremost, a happy customer! The customer chose the die cut boxes for shipping sample products and the case for their salesforce. The foam was a perfect fit and gave the items featured a great first impression. Foam fabricating is an art and if it’s manufactured with great craftsmanship, it will look great and the foam protects fragile products extremely well.
