Case Study No. 3 – Foam Die Cutting
THE CHALLENGE: Our customer needed to display elegant soaps in a beautiful gift box. The packaging needed to have a casual elegance that did not take away from the gift upon opening, while also having neatly, precisely cut sections that held the soaps in place (achieved by foam die cutting).
SOLUTION: As mentioned above, this project involved foam die cutting in order to create the containers for the soaps, and we utilized our die cutting machine with a custom made die to cut the parts. An Ester foam was used for the insert with 10 cavities and a bottom pad to protect and house the soaps. The foam is an open-cell foam that also absorbed the essence that permeates from the product. It also has a sparkle that gives a richness to the initial impression.
RESULT: The result was a safe and secure package that met our customers needs both aesthetically and functionally. Die cutting resulted in elegant, clean cuts, and the resulting packaging was perfectly made, custom for the customer’s products.
